We began organizing the workshop by reaching out to potential supporters. We contacted the president of Arcadia Young Democrats at Arcadia High School and asked if they would partner with us to host the event. After securing the venue and date, we began brainstorming with Mary David, the Communications Director of anti-trafficking organization Journey Out.
We were set to host on Friday, December 15. We prepared pizza, drinks, and food beforehand in the multi-purpose room in Arcadia High School. Eventually, we received more than a hundred attendees. It was rewarding to see everyone listening attentively during the event. Many took notes and even asked for the powerpoint after the event ended.
